The short starts in an art deco-style office the film takes place around the 1920s we see a man in a trench coat sitting at his desk smoking and drinking a glass of gin we never see his full face often only one side ​​​​​​​

We see him pull out a revolver and he begin to load it he closely looks at each bullet as he loads it 


A knock is heard at the doors A woman walks in and tells him he doesn't have to go 
The two talk in which we learn of their ambiguous relationship to his experience in the war. And that he is a former cop turned Private investigator who is preparing to confront a mafia boss ​​​​​​​
The scene then shifts to an argument between the man and the woman he then reveals to the audience that he is missing an eye they have finally embraced ​​​​​​​
​​​​​​​he then takes his gun walks out the door and leaves as he says something to her but we never hear what he says as he walks out.
