The edge is one of the most popular radio stations in New Zealand 
 starting its life as Buzzard FM, a small Hamilton radio station that started in the early 1990s. where it played contemporary pop songs 
 Buzzard FM was then sold to  Energy Enterprises which  rebranded  Buzzard to The Edge and switched to the top 40 format. 
 Tragetinng the 18 to 35 market 
 Energy Enterprises was then sold to Radio Works now known as Media Works and became part of their top nationwide radio stations. 
The edge has gone though quite a rebranding though out its history 
When it was rebranded to the Edge bye Engegy Fm it was given its first logo which it kept for around 23 years was change 
To the simpler more modern THE EDGE logo which went though a number of Iterations 
Until landing on Its now iconic Pink logo distenguasing its Brand and Vibe it puts off 
The edge demographic is  the 18 to 39 market which it competes for against its rivel station of NZMEs ZM and NZMEs THE
HITS who both bye for supremacy over the pop and R&B market in New Zealand .
The edge has one of the largest female audience out of any stations 
With females making up 61% of the stations listening base 
Making the edge a very female oriented station 
The edge has the very respectably 573 800 listernes per week. 
Which leads the edge to be in the top five best rated stations in the country each year . 
The Edge is made up of four main shows 
The morning show with Clint Meg and Dan who go with a more talk  show style with them playing only around 10 minutes of songs then going on for a 10 minute conversation with regerly news traffic reports .
 but the edge does another form of news called scandal wich they do every 30 minies in wich they discuss resont celebrity and entertainment news which applies to the mosty young and female audience .
The full noise work day show which plays non stop music interrupted with the occasional news and scandal report 
The afternoon show with Sharin Steph was recently vacated by Nixion Cooper who left 4 weeks ago for his old job at More FM another Media works station

 and was replaced with DJ Saun Hill from the night show. the afternoon show is similar to the morning show with just as much music and talk with the same news traffic and scandal reports.
The edges music follows the to 40 metood they play all the top globe pop songs but also splice in new zealand pop songs aswell mosty playing L.A.B and 6SIXIE .
During the Full noise work day they often play older and different genres of songs such as early 2000s EMINEM and KANYA  songs but these are only played dueing the Full noise work day and the EDGE Nights who play remix songs done bye their in house DJ Suan hill .
They have a core group of artist wich they play the most resont songs from artists like Taylor Swift Drake Beyocaye Ariana Granda and recently SZA who is coming to New Zealand in the coming months.
The edge also has a very active copotion bace with  reguler give aways to concerts and shows
With the biggest one in resont years being the edge giving away VIP tickets to Fire fest two 
But as we all know the songs are irrelevant to the real stars of the show ADS The Edge has a core group of sponsors each apeling  to 18 to 35 . 
them being Squirrel a money lending and finance servas which would be something that their younger audience who are Ither at UNI currently renting or buying their first home and require a lone or financial advice.
Sleep drops many people nowadays suffer from insomnia and have problems sleeping.

And also plays ads for upcoming events at Bar 101 Auckland's most popular nightclub wh
But their most promonet sponsor Mcdonalds  who the main sponsor the Afternoon show and is a key sponsor of their most resont Surpize fries consent . 
But one of the most important sponsers is ROVA 
A media works broadcasting app which they market as the way to tune in any media works sation at any time .
They also like to repackage their Moring and drive shows as podcast in which they take out all the music and news traffic and  ads and rename them as podcasts 
But then they do have actually podcasts such as Sharines The Trainee Sexologist and Clint Tic-heads these are actually real podcasts and are pretty entertaining. 
They also have specialty radio shows on rova that just play specific genres of music of certain playlist  
The edge has a very divers portfolio of shows and a very active social media presents and in person presents with regular give aways in person and online 
But probably the best indication of the edge success is the fact that while reserchering this project my Mum called in to the edge for a concert ticket give away and their where over 57 thousand people in the cue to call .
